How to Trace Activity in an Awin Publisher Account

Awin is an affiliate marketing platform that connects publishers with advertisers and records qualifying activity generated through affiliate promotions. Publishers can sign in at Awin’s platform, review individual transactions, check commission progress, and trace payments through the reporting area.

This independent guide is not affiliated with or operated by Awin.

The fastest way to diagnose an Awin problem is to identify the last confirmed stage. A successful login does not prove a sale was tracked. A tracked transaction does not prove it was approved, and approved commission may remain outside the next publisher payment.

What is an Awin publisher account?

An Awin publisher account gives an approved marketing partner access to advertiser relationships, tracking tools, transaction reports, and publisher payment records. Awin describes its platform as a network connecting advertisers with affiliate partners that promote products or services through measurable marketing activity.

The process contains several separate records:

  1. The publisher account
  2. The advertiser-program relationship
  3. The tracked transaction
  4. The commission status
  5. The publisher payment

A problem at one level does not automatically affect the others.

For example, a publisher may enter the dashboard normally while a particular advertiser application remains pending. The same publisher may also have approved commission from another advertiser that has not yet reached the cleared payment stage.

Use the current Awin sign-in page

Awin’s current platform sign-in page is hosted at ui.awin.com. The screen begins with an Email address field, followed by Continue, and provides a Problem signing in? route for access issues.

Use the login page reached through Awin’s own website. Skip third-party login directories, copied support pages, and services claiming they can manually unlock a publisher account.

Awin’s Partner Success Center is separate from the operational platform. It contains support articles covering account access, reporting, advertiser relationships, and payment questions.

Wrong page, wrong diagnosis.

Use the platform when checking account data. Use the Success Center when the meaning of a screen, field, or status is unclear.

Why an Awin password reset may fail

Awin’s login guidance covers several causes rather than treating every failure as an incorrect password. These include an account that has not been activated, a locked account, reset-email delivery problems, and other access conditions.

Start with one clean recovery attempt:

  • Confirm the email belongs to the intended Awin account.
  • Use Problem signing in? from the platform.
  • Check filtered and junk mail.
  • Open only the newest recovery message.
  • Start a fresh browser session if the page repeatedly loops.

Some migrated ShareASale users face a different problem. Awin states that a person who has never signed into the Awin platform and does not receive a reset email may have an account that has not yet been activated.

Do not keep requesting new reset links when activation is the unresolved step.

Awin also maintains a publisher contact form for account-access problems. Its published access page says the publisher team aims to respond within 48 hours, although actual handling can vary.

Changing login details inside Awin

Awin’s current help documentation places password changes under the user menu.

From the Dashboard, select the user icon in the upper-right corner, then choose Security.

This is an authenticated account setting. It is different from recovering access when the user cannot sign in at all.

Prioritize account recovery first. Skip attempts to create another publisher profile merely to obtain a new login, because advertiser relationships and historical payment records remain associated with the original account.

Account access and publisher ownership are also different concepts. A new user login does not necessarily transfer legal or administrative ownership of the publisher account.

Find a transaction before investigating payment

Awin’s Publisher Transaction Report is located under Reports > Transactions. Publishers can filter records by date, payment status, transaction type, advertiser, and order reference.

This should be the first reporting screen used when a sale or commission appears missing.

Do not begin with a bank statement.

Set the relevant advertiser and date range, then locate the individual transaction. Awin’s current Transactions report also lets users open a more detailed breakdown by selecting the number shown in the Sale Amount column. That breakdown can display the transaction and the commission groups applied to it.

One detailed record usually answers more than a dashboard total. It can show whether the activity exists, how it was classified, and which status currently applies.

Transaction ID and order reference are not identical

Awin’s reporting data includes an Awin transaction identifier and an advertiser order reference. The transaction ID uniquely identifies the commission record within Awin, while the order reference comes from the advertiser’s order or transaction system.

These values may look unrelated.

That does not necessarily indicate duplicate or missing activity. An advertiser may expose an internal commerce reference in Awin while the buyer sees another number on a confirmation page or receipt.

When asking support or an advertiser to investigate, use the identifiers visible in the Awin report. Include the advertiser, transaction date, Awin transaction ID, and order reference when available.

Never include customer payment details. They are not required to locate an affiliate transaction.

Why a tracked transaction can change

Tracking records the activity, but advertisers validate whether that activity qualifies for commission.

Awin describes transaction validation as the advertiser’s process for reviewing tracked transactions and confirming whether they are genuine and commissionable. Pending transactions can be approved, amended, or declined during the applicable validation process.

The Self Service documentation also states that programs have a set validation period. During that period, the advertiser reviews pending sales; transactions can be approved for commission or declined when invalid.

This creates a real delay between a tracked order and settled commission.

A sale amount may also be amended. An advertiser might adjust the qualifying value after a partial return, cancellation, or another permitted correction under its program process.

Check the detailed record first. Skip conclusions based solely on the original customer order total.

Approved commission may not be ready for payment

Awin pays publishers on validated transactions, but advertiser validation is not the final payment stage. Awin’s publisher training explains that once an advertiser pays Awin for a transaction, the transaction is marked Cleared and can move to the next applicable publisher payment day.

That distinction is critical.

A transaction may have passed the advertiser’s validity review while the corresponding advertiser payment to Awin remains outstanding. In that case, changing publisher banking information will not move the commission forward.

Do status work first. Skip bank troubleshooting until a publisher payment has actually been created.

Awin’s Self Service FAQ describes publisher payments as automated and dependent on the advertiser validating pending transactions.

How to use Payment Overview and History

Awin’s Payment report separates Overview from History.

The Overview area displays information such as the next expected payment amount, confirmed commission, the next payment date, payment frequency, and payment method for each applicable currency. The History area contains prior payments broken down into self-billing invoices.

These screens answer different questions.

Overview: What may be included in an upcoming payment?

History: What has already been processed?

For payment tracing, History is the stronger record. Awin documents the route as Reports > Payment > History. The relevant self-billing invoice can then be accessed through the Action(s) column.

No historical payment record means the investigation should usually move backward toward transaction status, threshold, or payment setup.

Why self-billing information matters

A self-billing invoice records the commission payment prepared through Awin’s publisher-payment process. It is not the same as an invoice a publisher manually sends to every advertiser.

Awin states that self-billing invoices are paid subject to correct and complete bank and tax information being shown in the platform.

That gives publishers two separate checks:

  • Was a self-billing invoice created?
  • Were the required account details complete?

A created invoice without a matching deposit points toward transfer tracing. No invoice points toward an earlier account or commission stage.

If an invoice contains an error, use Awin’s documented support route for correction rather than editing a downloaded copy. Altering the local document does not change Awin’s payment record.

A practical Awin payment-tracing order

Follow the records in sequence:

  1. Sign in through Awin’s platform.
  2. Open Reports > Transactions.
  3. Find the advertiser and order reference.
  4. Check the transaction’s current status.
  5. Open the detailed sale and commission breakdown.
  6. Confirm whether the transaction has reached the cleared payment stage.
  7. Open the Payment report.
  8. Compare Overview with Payment > History.
  9. Locate the self-billing invoice.
  10. Contact publisher support when the platform shows a completed payment record but the transfer is missing.

This order avoids mixing three unrelated problems: tracking, advertiser validation, and bank delivery.

Keep the evidence narrow. A screenshot is not necessary for an initial support description; the transaction ID, order reference, advertiser, date, and visible status are usually more useful.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Awin publisher login?

The current sign-in page is at ui.awin.com.

Why am I not receiving a reset email?

The account may require activation, the address may not match the account, or access may be restricted. Migrated users who never entered Awin may need activation rather than another reset.

Where can I change my Awin password?

Open the Dashboard, select the user icon, and choose Security.

Where is the Awin transaction report?

Go to Reports > Transactions.

Is an order reference the same as a transaction ID?

No. The transaction ID identifies Awin’s commission record, while the order reference comes from the advertiser’s system.

Can an advertiser change a pending transaction?

Yes. Transactions may be approved, amended, or declined during validation.

Where are completed publisher payments shown?

Open Reports > Payment > History. Self-billing invoices are available through the relevant Action(s) entry.

Why is validated commission not in my bank?

The transaction may not yet be cleared, a payment may not have been created, or required bank and tax details may be incomplete. Check transaction status, Payment History, and the self-billing invoice before tracing the transfer.
