Awin is an affiliate marketing network that connects publishers with advertisers. Publishers can use the platform to find suitable advertiser programs, build trackable links, monitor transactions, and receive commission that has completed Awin’s payment process.

This independent guide is not affiliated with or operated by Awin.

The account journey has several distinct parts. Getting accepted by Awin does not automatically approve a publisher for every advertiser, and seeing a transaction in a report does not mean that commission is ready for payment. Treat login, program membership, tracking, and payment as separate checks.

What does Awin do?

Awin provides the infrastructure used to manage relationships between advertisers and affiliate publishers. Its network handles functions such as tracking referred activity, recording commission, facilitating advertiser relationships, and processing eligible publisher payments.

Publishers can include editorial websites, content creators, influencers, comparison services, technology partners, and other approved businesses. Awin also maintains an advertiser directory that allows prospective publishers to browse brand profiles before deciding which partnerships may suit their audience.

Joining is one step.

A publisher must also provide accurate information about its promotional space and apply to individual advertiser programs. Those advertisers may review the publisher independently before allowing promotions under their program terms.

Use the correct Awin login or signup page

Existing publishers should reach the account through the login route on Awin’s own website. New applicants should use the publisher signup form, which is hosted within Awin’s platform and begins the publisher registration process.

Do this first: confirm whether you already have an account.

Submitting another registration does not repair access to an existing publisher profile. It may instead leave advertiser memberships, transaction records, and future payments attached to the original account.

Awin’s Partner Success Center is a separate help environment. It contains instructions for account setup, advertiser applications, publisher tools, and payment questions, but it should not be confused with the main publisher reporting interface.

Use the platform for account actions. Use official support articles to interpret a setting or status.

What Awin checks during publisher registration

Awin tells applicants to complete its publisher signup form with accurate information about themselves and their promotional space. The submitted property should give reviewers enough information to understand where and how advertisers will be promoted.

Specific descriptions work better than empty labels.

For example, “editorial buying guides for US home-office customers” explains an audience and content model. “Online promotion” does not. The description must reflect the real website, social account, newsletter, application, or other submitted channel.

Awin’s registration material focuses on accurate details and a reviewable promotional property. Do not claim traffic sources, audience numbers, or business capabilities that cannot be supported by the actual channel.

Skip duplicate applications. Correct the original submission when possible.

Registration requirements may differ by region, applicant type, and the route used to join. The country-specific signup screen and applicable publisher terms should control over an older tutorial or a guide written for another market.

Finding advertisers that match the publisher

Awin maintains an advertiser directory where publishers can browse advertiser profiles across the network. The directory is useful before registration as well as after account approval because it shows the types of partnerships available.

Inside the platform, Awin documents the route Advertisers > Join Programmes for submitting a program application. Publishers should review the advertiser’s profile and available program information before applying.

Relevance should come before volume.

A publisher focused on software procurement may have little reason to apply to a regional fashion program unless its audience and content genuinely overlap. Applying to dozens of unrelated advertisers can also make it harder to write a useful promotional-strategy explanation.

Program acceptance is separate from Awin network acceptance. An advertiser may leave the request pending, approve it, or reject it according to its own program review.

Do not begin promotion until the publisher has joined the applicable program and confirmed the advertiser’s current terms.

Creating an Awin affiliate link

Awin’s Link Builder creates tracking links that direct visitors to an advertiser’s website while attaching the information needed to attribute eligible activity to the publisher. The documented publisher route is Toolbox > Link Builder.

The publisher selects an advertiser it has joined and supplies the destination page it wants to promote. A deep link can point to a specific product, category, article, or other approved page rather than sending every visitor to the advertiser’s homepage.

Check the final destination.

A product URL may later redirect, disappear, or move to another regional page. A technically valid tracking link can therefore produce a poor reader experience if the destination is no longer relevant.

Awin also provides a Link Builder API. It allows publishers to generate tracking links from an advertiser ID and destination URL without using the standard Link Builder interface for every link. This is aimed at publishers that need a more automated workflow.

Use the standard interface first. Skip API implementation unless the publication volume genuinely justifies it.

Link Builder and Convert-a-Link are different

Awin’s publisher tools include Convert-a-Link, which can automatically convert ordinary links to joined Awin advertisers into affiliate tracking links containing the publisher’s identifier.

Link Builder is more deliberate. The publisher chooses an advertiser and destination, then creates an individual tracking link. Convert-a-Link is designed to identify eligible advertiser links within a website and convert them automatically after it has been enabled.

Neither tool grants access to an advertiser program. The publisher must already have the appropriate advertiser relationship for the resulting links to operate as intended.

This is a practical failure point. A publisher may create or paste what appears to be an affiliate URL but receive no commission because the account was not joined to that advertiser, the destination was not eligible, or the transaction did not satisfy the program’s conditions.

Test the destination, not the purchase process.

Publishers should not make test orders unless the advertiser’s program terms expressly permit that activity.

How Awin transaction reporting fits into payment

Affiliate tracking and affiliate payment are connected, but they are not the same event.

A tracking link records attributed activity. The advertiser then evaluates transactions under its program conditions. Only commission that reaches the appropriate confirmed or payable stage can move toward a publisher payment. Awin’s payment documentation explains that confirmed commission may be held until Awin receives the corresponding advertiser payment.

A broad earnings total is therefore not the best figure for diagnosing a missing bank deposit.

The useful questions are:

  • Was the activity tracked?
  • Was the transaction accepted?
  • Has the related commission become payable?
  • Has the payable balance reached the account threshold?
  • Does payment history show a processed payment?

Answer them in that order. Skip changes to bank details while the problem remains at the tracking or advertiser-validation stage.

Awin payment thresholds

Every publisher must set a minimum payment threshold. Awin currently lists a minimum of $20 for USD payments, £20 for GBP payments, and €20 for euro payments. Other currencies use an amount equivalent to $20.

A publisher can select a higher amount.

Suppose a US publisher changes the threshold to $150. A payable balance of $92 will not trigger payment merely because Awin’s lowest permitted USD threshold is $20. The account’s saved $150 threshold controls the outcome.

This setting is frequently forgotten.

Check the threshold first, before contacting the bank or assuming that Awin rejected the commission. Awin’s training material also identifies payment frequency and minimum threshold as conditions affecting the next scheduled payment.

When Awin processes publisher payments

Awin processes publisher payments twice each month, on the 1st and 15th. When either date falls on a weekend, the payment is issued on the next working day. The time required for funds to reach the receiving account depends on the selected payment method.

These dates are processing dates, not promises that every tracked transaction will be paid in the next cycle.

The commission must pass the applicable advertiser review, become eligible for payment, and satisfy the publisher’s selected threshold. Correct bank and tax information may also be required under the publisher terms and account arrangement.

Timing varies by region.

A transaction recorded shortly before a cutoff may miss that payment cycle if advertiser validation or funding has not finished. Counting from the original order date alone can therefore produce the wrong expectation.

Where to find payment history and invoices

Awin documents the publisher route Reports > Payment > History for accessing self-billing invoices. The Action(s) column contains the available invoice action for the relevant payment record.

This screen answers whether Awin created a payment record. It does not merely show estimated or unvalidated commission.

Self-billing invoices are also dependent on correct and complete bank and tax information. Awin’s tax guidance states that payment of self-billing invoices is subject to those details being properly shown in the interface.

Do not confuse publisher payment history with advertiser billing documents. Awin’s newer advertiser billing area uses Account > Billing > Invoice History, which concerns billing documents such as invoices, pre-payment requests, and credit notes.

For a publisher checking commission payments, begin under Reports > Payment > History.

What to check before contacting Awin

Start with the narrowest screen related to the problem.

For login trouble, confirm the correct Awin account and recovery route. For a missing advertiser relationship, check the program application. For an untracked promotion, inspect the advertiser membership, tracking link, and destination. For a payment issue, review commission status, threshold, payment frequency, and payment history.

Then contact Awin through an official support route.

A useful support request identifies the publisher account and the exact stage where the process stops. It might say that the advertiser relationship is active and commission is payable, but Reports > Payment > History contains no corresponding payment record.

Never include authentication credentials or security codes. Support does not need those details to inspect an account-side status.
