An Awin commission appearing in the transaction report does not mean it is ready for withdrawal. The transaction normally moves from Pending review to Approved, then to Payable before it can enter a publisher payment. This independent guide is not affiliated with Awin.
Check the transaction status first. Skip changing bank details unless Awin shows a payment block or the transfer itself has failed.
What Awin is
Awin is an affiliate-marketing network where publishers promote participating advertisers and may earn commission from tracked, validated activity.
The advertiser reviews the transaction, Awin records its payment status, and the publisher receives eligible commission after the required payment conditions have been satisfied. A tracked sale alone is not the final payout event.
Pending, Approved, and Payable are different
Awin’s official payment documentation separates transaction validation from payment readiness.
| Awin status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pending review | The advertiser has not finished validating the transaction |
| Approved | The advertiser accepted the commission, but it is not yet ready for payment |
| Payable | The commission is available for the next qualifying publisher payout |
| Amber payout status | The payable balance has not reached the selected threshold |
| Red payout status | Payment is blocked and account payment details need attention |
Awin states that publishers are paid only after commission reaches Payable status. Payments are then issued on the applicable payment date, subject to the publisher’s threshold and account setup.
This is the most common source of confusion.
An Approved commission is not necessarily money Awin can send immediately. It may remain unpaid while the advertiser’s payment to Awin is still being processed. Awin’s help center says that commission remaining Approved for an extended period usually means the advertiser has not yet paid Awin.
Where to check each transaction
Awin’s Publisher Transaction Report is available under:
Reports → Transactions
The report can be filtered by transaction date, advertiser, transaction status, payment status, transaction type, or order reference.
Use these filters carefully:
- Pending shows tracked transactions awaiting advertiser validation.
- Approved includes validated transactions, both paid and unpaid.
- Declined shows transactions rejected by the advertiser.
- Payable – Next payment shows commission expected in an upcoming payment.
- Paid – Payment sent shows transactions already included in a payment.
Do this first: filter by Payable – Next payment. Skip relying on the total Approved figure because it can contain earnings that have not cleared the full payment process.
The Payment Report provides another view. Awin says it breaks completed payments into self-billing invoices and includes an Unpaid Commissions view for approved transactions that have not yet been paid.
Awin payment thresholds
Awin requires publishers to set a minimum payment threshold. The official minimums published in March 2026 are:
- $20 for USD
- £20 for GBP
- €20 for EUR
- An amount equivalent to $20 for other currencies
Awin processes publisher payment cycles twice each month. The balance must meet the relevant threshold by the 15th or the last day of the month. If it does not, the money rolls into the next payment cycle.
The default threshold can be higher when the publisher has not selected one. Awin lists default amounts of 50 for several major currencies, 100 CAD or PLN, and 500 SEK or NOK, depending on the payment currency.
That creates a specific friction: a publisher may have more than the minimum $20 in payable commission but still receive nothing because the account retained a default $50 threshold.
The documented settings path is:
Account → Payment Details → Bank Details
Awin says the publisher can select the payment threshold and payment frequency in that section.
When Awin issues payments
Awin’s current transaction-status documentation says payments are issued on the 1st or 15th of each month. When either date falls on a weekend or public holiday, payment is moved to the next working day.
Those are processing dates, not promises that the money will appear in every bank account on the same day.
The arrival time can vary by payment route, receiving country, currency, financial institution, and whether an international-payment provider is involved. Awin’s international-payment guidance says some publishers must connect an appropriate Payoneer account for international payments.
A payment marked Paid – Payment sent has left Awin’s payment process. A commission marked only Approved has not.
One word matters.
Why an approved commission is still unpaid
Awin’s payment model depends on advertiser funding.
After an advertiser approves a transaction, the related commission may remain Approved until the advertiser pays Awin. Awin says its account-management and Credit Control teams issue invoices and send reminders when advertiser payments become due.
Publishers can review the advertiser’s payment condition through Awin’s traffic-light system. The official documentation says this system represents the advertiser’s financial standing and payment status. Awin strongly recommends against promoting advertisers showing a red payment status or Exposure Level 4.
This is information competitors often flatten into “Awin pays late.”
The delay may sit with the advertiser rather than with the publisher’s bank or threshold. Changing payout details will not make an unfunded Approved transaction become Payable.
Priority two: check the advertiser’s payment indicator. Skip opening a bank-payment ticket while the earnings are not yet Payable.
Red and amber payout indicators
Awin’s payment-status guide uses different colors for different problems:
Amber means the publisher has not reached the payment threshold.
Red means payment is blocked and payment details should be reviewed.
These indicators should not be confused with an advertiser’s separate traffic-light payment status. One relates to the publisher’s payout readiness. The other reflects the advertiser’s payment position.
A red publisher payout status can be connected with incomplete or incorrect payment information. Awin’s current publisher terms state that payment depends on complete payment and tax details, requested residence information, required setup processes, and the absence of an internal audit or network-quality review.
The exact required information varies by tax residence, payment route, and region.
Bank details and failed payments
Awin says publisher payments are made using the account information supplied by the publisher and that Awin cannot validate those payment details on the publisher’s behalf.
Its publisher terms also state that payment depends on correct, accurate, and complete bank and tax information. Older U.S. terms note that updates to bank information can take up to two business days to take effect.
A transfer can fail because of:
- An unsupported payment destination
- Incorrect routing information
- A closed receiving account
- A name or account mismatch
- An international-payment setup problem
- Payment information changed too close to processing
- A receiving-bank rejection
Do not keep editing the information after a payment has already been sent. Confirm whether Awin shows Paid – Payment sent, Red payout status, or a failed-payment notice first.
The right action depends on where the failure occurred.
Does a publisher need to send an invoice?
For most regions, no separate invoice is required.
Awin says publishers in most markets receive payments automatically once payable earnings reach the selected threshold. Specific invoicing procedures apply to publishers with tax residence in countries including Brazil, Mexico, and Turkey.
That regional caveat is important. A publisher following advice written for another country may wait for an automatic payment even though a local invoicing step is required.
Awin’s terms also refer to self-billing invoices. In a self-billing arrangement, Awin creates the relevant invoice record rather than waiting for the publisher to prepare an ordinary invoice manually.
Check the tax-residence rules attached to the actual account. Skip uploading or sending an informal invoice unless the official regional instructions require one.
Why a transaction was declined
A declined transaction is not part of the payable balance.
Awin’s Publisher Transaction Report says the decline reason can be viewed by hovering over the relevant transaction or exporting the report.
Possible advertiser decisions vary by program and may relate to cancellation, return, invalid attribution, program terms, duplicate tracking, or another advertiser-specific validation rule. The precise reason should come from the transaction record rather than an assumption.
Awin also supports publisher transaction queries for categories including:
- Declined
- Incorrect
- Untracked
A missing commission and a declined commission are not identical. Missing tracking may require a transaction query; a declined transaction already exists in the system and has been rejected.
Review the displayed reason first.
Advertiser approval can delay the first commission
Before promoting an advertiser, a publisher generally needs to apply to the program and receive approval. Awin says the publisher profile, payment information, and tax details should be current before applying.
The application remains Pending until it is reviewed by the advertiser or its Awin account manager. Some advertisers use auto-approval, while others review each application manually.
Awin’s support guidance says that, when no response has been received within five working days, the publisher may send a follow-up message to the advertiser through the platform.
The documented route for pending applications is:
Advertisers → My Programs → Pending
Do not assume a pending program application is a payment problem. No commission can become payable from a program the publisher has not yet been approved to promote under the applicable terms.
The fastest payment diagnosis
Use this order:
- Open Reports → Transactions.
- Find the relevant sale or commission.
- Check whether it is Pending, Approved, Payable, Declined, or Paid.
- Review Payable – Next payment.
- Check the selected threshold under Account → Payment Details.
- Review any amber or red payout indicator.
- Check the advertiser’s traffic-light payment status.
- Confirm whether the completed payment appears in the Payment Report.
- Investigate the receiving bank only after Awin shows the payment as sent.
This order prevents three common mistakes: treating Pending as owed, treating Approved as Payable, and changing bank settings when the advertiser has not funded the commission.
Frequently asked questions
When does Awin pay publishers?
On the applicable 1st or 15th payment cycle.
What is the minimum Awin payout in USD?
The published minimum is $20, although a higher selected or default threshold can apply.
Why is my commission Approved but unpaid?
Approved means the advertiser accepted the transaction, but it may not yet be funded and Payable. Awin says prolonged Approved status usually means the advertiser has not yet paid Awin.
Where can I see my next payment?
Use Reports → Transactions and filter the payment status to Payable – Next payment.
What does an amber payout status mean?
Your balance has not reached the payment threshold.
What does a red payout status mean?
Payment is blocked. Review the account’s payment setup and any displayed requirements before contacting the receiving bank.
Do I need to invoice Awin?
Most publishers are paid automatically after their payable balance reaches the threshold. Country-specific invoicing procedures apply in certain markets, including Brazil, Mexico, and Turkey.
Can an advertiser delay my Awin payment?
Yes. An approved transaction may remain unpaid until the advertiser funds Awin. The advertiser traffic-light status can indicate whether payment delays are likely.
Awin payment troubleshooting becomes much shorter once the commission is placed in the correct stage. Pending belongs with advertiser validation, Approved with funding, Payable with the threshold and next cycle, and Paid with the receiving bank.
